About this Event
Step out of the lecture theatre and straight into the OR.
The Surgical Escape Room: Operating Theatre 101
is a high-yield, interactive workshop designed to give pre-clinical medical students their first real taste of hands-on surgical practice.
Led by a female surgical trainee and us, you and your team will race against the clock to navigate a live clinical scenario. You’ll master proper OR scrub and sterile gowning protocols, interpret emergency diagnostic scans, identify essential surgical instruments, and put suture to pad to close the case.
Once you’ve cracked the code and saved your patient, stick around for an informal, honest Q&A with our trainee facilitators to ask everything you’ve ever wanted to know about surgical training pathways, portfolio building, and carving out your place in surgery.
What you’ll gain:
Hands-on experience:
Scrubbing, diagnostic scan reading, and basic suturing technique.
Early mentorship:
Direct access to female surgical trainees who have walked in your shoes.
Zero experience required:
Designed specifically for pre-clinical students taking their first steps toward a surgical career.
And perhaps a prize…
