About this Event

This lively and interactive workshop, created as part of the UCL200 Staff Contribution and Engagement Fund, celebrates UCL’s bicentenary by looking ahead to how we can help children grow with courage, connection and hope. It explores what is really happening when children struggle with attention, emotions and behaviour. Drawing on research in child development, educational neuroscience and psychology, Dr Gisele Dias and Dr Liory Fern-Pollak from the Psychology and HUman Development Department at the IOE will bring the science of the developing brain to life through engaging demonstrations, relatable examples and practical discussion. Designed for UCL staff and students who are parents, carers or educators, the workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming space to explore everyday challenges and practical ways to support emotional regulation, cooperation and connection.
