Ask Claude about campus

Connect the Toolbox to Claude and it can look up society events, the society directory, the UCL module catalogue, which rooms are free and when buildings open, the notices board, and the Students' Union's democracy: governing documents, Union policy, zone meetings and what's up for a vote, and the elected officers. The standard server only sees what anyone can see on this site without signing in. The signed-in one below adds your followed societies, starred events, timetable and modules; if you tick the boxes when connecting, it can also star and follow for you, and use your society's committee tools.

Claude app — web, desktop and mobile
  1. Copy the server URL.
  2. Open Settings → Connectors on claude.ai and choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Campus Toolbox, paste the URL, and click Add. There's no sign-in step.

Add it once on the web and it appears in the desktop and mobile apps too. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may have to add it for the workspace first.

Claude Code

Run this once in any terminal. It's added for every project, not just the folder you're in.

claude mcp add --scope user --transport http act https://www.adamscampustoolbox.org.uk/api/mcp
Optional — with your own data

Use this URL instead and Claude can also see the societies you follow, the events you've starred and your linked UCL timetable, so “what's on for me this week?” works. Adding it opens a Toolbox sign-in and asks you to allow access. It can only read; disconnect it any time from Settings.

claude mcp add --scope user --transport http act-me https://www.adamscampustoolbox.org.uk/api/mcp/account
Then try
  • “What's on tonight?”
  • “Which societies do climbing, and when do they next meet?”
  • “What's the SU's policy on rent, and how far along is it?”
  • “What's being voted on at the next Welfare & Community Zone?”
  • “Who's the Education Officer, and how are they doing on their manifesto?”
  • “Is anyone selling a desk on the notices board?”
  • “Is the Student Centre open now? Find me a free computer cluster for two hours.”
  • “What do the SU's Bye-Laws say about running for more than one committee position?”
  • “With the signed-in server: what's on for me this week, lectures included?”
  • “With the signed-in server: star that EV society event, and follow them.”
  • “With the signed-in server, as a committee member: how many tickets have we sold?”
